Candle Care Guide

At Matte Collective, each candle is hand poured with care using All natural soy wax and premium fragrance oils. To Enjoy your candle safely and get the best burn, please follow our simple care tips.

FIRST BURN

• Allow the wax to melt evenly across the entire surface before extinguishing (usually 2-4 hours) 
• This Prevents tunnelling and helps your candle burn evenly every time.

WICK CARE

• Always trim the wick to 3-5mm before each burn, to do this you can either use wick trimmers or by gently pinching off the burnt tip with your fingers once the wick has cooled. 

BURNING YOUR CANDLE

• Burn for no longer than 4 Hours at a time.
• Keep Candles on a flat, heat resistant surface.
• Never leave a burning candle unattended

SAFETY FIRST

• Keep Candles away from children, pets and drafts.
• Do not move a burning candle - wait until the wax has cooled and solidified.
• Discontinue use when 10mm of wax remains at the bottom of the jar.

EXTINGUISHING YOUR CANDLE

• Gently blow out or use a snuffer to extinguish.
• Avoid dipping the wick into the wax, as this can damage the wick.

PRO TIP

If your flame flickers or smokes, its a sign your wick needs a trim.
